Bird Identification Guides: Hawks, Ducks, Feathers

These pages answer the questions people actually type after they see a bird: what hawk is this, what type of duck is this, what bird feather is this. Each one starts with the answer, then gives the marks that separate the likely candidates, with the source for every number. Where a page covers a whole group, the individual species pages in the [duck and raptor guide](/lookup/ducks-and-raptors) carry the full field-mark list. Photograph the bird side-on in good light and the app identifies it; these pages are how you confirm the answer against the look-alike.
